Bachelor film released!

My bachelor group project "The Backwater Gospel" can now be seen online.

Sypnosis
As long as anyone can remember, the coming of the Undertaker has meant the coming of death. Until one day the grim promise fails and tension builds as the God fearing townsfolk of Backwater wait for someone to die.

Animation Showreel and Portfolio

I put together an Animation Showreel/online portfolio for my 3 month internship after summer. It's going to be updated every now and then since it has a couple of scenes from "The Backwater Gospel" that will be replaced with newer ones (click image to enter)

Playblast exam

The guideline: Having pleased man waiting at the bus stop.
After 3 seconds a bird takes a crap on his head. Show the reaction when he discovers the crap, then have him angrily searching the heavens for the source. Use 7 seconds.

Wish I had more seconds to work with for longer pauses or letting something more intresting to happen in the animation.

Menstrual Cycles

Menstrual Cycles

Another dialog scene with the Norman rig

Here's the unrendered version of it. Maybe it's just me (since this is the version im looking at when animating) but the acting and animation felt slightly different when I rendered it out compared to my playblast.

The Overreaction

The task was to animate someone at a busstop or resturant scene, let something happen and show the characters change in emotion.

3x update

Haven't updated this blog since last year now, so I guess it's time to get started again.

Here's an animation exercise from last week. The task was to make someone interact with a box. Didn't have much time to work with it, so an extra day with fixing and polishing would have been -kewl.

Here's something from last year. It's a 20 sec Tv ident for Nicelodeon. I had around one and a half week to do the animation, the rest of the work was done by the danish company KMA

Then a couple of quick sketches I made during the last two months.

(handverk)

(Nintendo)

(Frankenstein/Monster)

(30 sec - 2 min sketches)

(A quickie from Norway when I didn't have acces to the wacom tablet)

test 2008

Here's this weeks exercise. Fun to use some of the stretchy features on "max man" for a change.

The rigging week is (finaly!) over so here's what I 've managed to finish out of it so far.4 min video were I move through some of the rig controllers below:

ready for rigging

The first school week of modeling is over and it should be more or less ready for the rigging wich is starting tomorrow = o
Didn't end up looking exactly like the painting and lost some appeal because of that. But atleast I learned alot from it^^

Generic walkcycle

Here's a generic walkcycle we're working on. It's not really complete yet and there was some trouble mirroring the animation over to the other arm so I got just rid of it for now=P
